The President of the RA National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan met with the parliamentary delegation of France, where were the Deputy Chair of France-Armenia Friendship Group of the National Assembly Guy Teissier, the Deputy Chair of France-Armenia Friendship Group of the Senate of France Valérie Boyer, the deputies of the National Assembly Xavier Breton, Jacqueline Dubois and François Pupponi.

Welcoming the guests, Ararat Mirzoyan has noted that it is an honour to host in the National Assembly the Armenian people’s old real friends. The Speaker of the Parliament underlined that the French colleagues’ visit to Armenia, as well as to Artsakh was important.

The sides discussed issues on situation in Artsakh created because of the Turkish-Azerbaijani aggression, the return of the Armenian prisoners of war and other detained persons, the resuming of the negotiations in the frameworks of the Minsk Group Co-Chairmanship and the important role of France in it.

The French parliamentarians presented to the NA President their intention of criminalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide and of making new legislative initiatives on Artsakh.

Ararat Mirzoyan and the French colleagues reached an agreement to make joint efforts in the security of Artsakh and in protecting the Artsakh Armenians’ right to self-determination, trying to more publicize the problem in different European countries.
