At April 29 sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security, the package of bills on Making Addendum to the law on State Border and on Amending the RA Code on Administrative Offences authored by the Government was debated in the first reading.
The Deputy Director of the RA National Security Service Stepan Melkonyan has informed that the use of the video-photo device and the unmanned aerial vehicle on the border layer of the state border of the Republic of Armenia is not regulated by law. The shootings of the residents of the border settlements or the tourists with devices does not miss the attention of the representatives of the border service of the borderline state, which in its turn has given a place for the expression of the complaint on the mentioned actions by the latter.
By the addendum of the law on State Border it is proposed to ban using the unmanned aerial vehicles without relevant permission, making video and photo shootings of the borderline state territory, the engineering structures, the barriers, the buildings-constructions being used by the border guard troops, watchtowers and transport means.
The amendment being proposed in the Code on Administrative Offences will specify the bases of using the administrative influence means towards the persons entering the border layer or being there, as well as those violated the rules of residing or registering.
During the debate the MPs voted for it. In his co-speech Hayk Konjoryan called on his colleagues to vote for it.
The package of the draft laws was endorsed for including it in the agenda of the sixth session of the NA seventh convocation.
