On March 23, during the debate of the agendas of the sixth session of the NA seventh convocation and the deputy of the NA My Step Faction Sisak Gabrielyan touched upon the snap parliamentary elections. “As all of us made a decision that this parliament should be dissolved and new elections should be held, hence on behalf of our Faction I propose to sit and define toolsets for the parliament of the eighth convocation.”
The independent deputy Gevorg Petrosyan was interested from the NA Speaker: “An announcement was voiced that we made a decision to dissolve the National Assembly. I would like to know if the National Assembly has the right of making such decision, and the second: if there is such decision that we made a decision to dissolve the National Assembly.”
In response to the independent MP the Speaker of the Parliament noted that it didn’t refer to the approval of the agendas of the sittings and reminded that, in fact, Sisak Gabrielyan’s speech related to the decision of holding snap elections on June 20, made on the basis of the parliamentary factions’ announcement.
