Message of National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia
1 / 1

On December 8, the National Assembly adopted a message, where it reads.

The NATIONAL ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA , based on the UN 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1949 Geneva Convention for the Protection of War Victims, the 1950 European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, the 1965 International Convention for the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination and other international treaties establishing human rights and humanitarian law, customary international law, and international law recognized by civilized nations, based on the principle of law,

Taking into consideration the commitment of the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides to return all the captives, as well as the bodies of the victims, noting that the Azerbaijani side artificially delays the process of returning the captives and bodies, obviously does not accept the real number of prisoners of war and imprisoned civilians under its control, hides their real number, continues, the cruel, inhuman, the degrading treatment and physical and psychological tortures towards them,

Strictly condemning the videotapes of tortures, the degrading treatment and other inhuman actions with unique cynicism through the representatives of the armed forces and spreading it on mass media and social networks.

Taking into account the universal and coordinated policy of the Azerbaijani authorities aimed at inciting hatred and enmity towards ethnic Armenians, heroizing those who have played a role in killing and torturing Armenians and other manifestations of violence in different parts of the world,

ADDRESSES WITH A MESSAGE

To the international community: the UN Human Rights Council, the UN Committee against Torture and the Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Committee on Racial Discrimination, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Council of Europe, the European Committee for the Prevention of Torture, the International Committee of the Red Cross and other international and national human rights organizations, institutions and individuals. With utmost efforts and real steps to end the anti-Armenian policy of Azerbaijan, which is intolerable for the civilized world, including the unbridled policy of avoiding international obligations in every possible way, policy of blatant violation of human rights and dignity, war crimes and international obligations,

To take effective measures aimed at respecting the obligations and strictly adhering to Azerbaijan's commitments under international human rights law and international humanitarian law.”
