On November 17, the students and the lecturers of the Faculty of Law of Yerevan State University (YSU) visited the parliament within the RA NA Open Doors programme.
The future lawyers observed the works of the NA regular sitting, took a tour in the parliament and got acquainted with the parliamentary happenings. Afterwards the Deputy Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs and Protection of Human Rights Rustam Makhmudyan met with them.
Welcoming the guests in the National Assembly, Rustam Makhmudyan highlighted such meetings with the student which give an opportunity to get familiarized with the legislative processes going on in the legislative power through direct contact and to listen to the viewpoints from the political tribune N 1 on different issues and problems.
“ Open lesson is one of the manifestations of democracy, ” the NA deputy noted.
The students' circle of interests was inclusive and diverse. The questions related to the procedure of the bills' adoption, the medical service in the detention places, the system of the parliamentary government, the democracy, the protection of human rights, etc.
In response to the issue of the constitutional reforms, Rustam Makhmudyan has noted that the reformed RA Constitution is man-centred, and it guarantees the protection of human rights.
