On September 9, the draft law on Tax Exemption for Activities in Gyumri authored by MP Hovhannes Margaryan was discussed at the regular meeting in the RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs moderated by Vardan Ayvazyan.
The bill offers to define some tax privileges for commercial organizations, legal entities and natural persons as a result of which targeted investments will significantly increase, favourable and specially privileged tax conditions will be created for business entities. Though the Government has a negative position towards the bill, the bill will be included in the draft agenda of the 10th Session of the NA 5th convocation for its double discussion.
The Acting Minister of Economics Artsvik Minasyan submitted for debate in the first reading the bill on Amendments to the RA Law on Customs Regulation which proposes to facilitate the cross-border transportation of goods of low price and exempt business entities from customs duty. Artsvik Minasyan informed that the bill on Amendments to the RA Law on Customs Regulation by MP Tevan Poghosyan had been added to this legislative initiative.
The Committee also discussed the bill on Amendments to the RA Law on Games of Chance and Gambling Houses by which an integrated approach will be defined for organization and control over for-profit games of chance. In particular, the requirements to be defined in the Law on Games of Chance and Gambling Houses will refer to the internet gambling, too.
The Committee discussed the annual report of implementation of state property privatization 2006-2007 programme in 2015.
The bills and the report will be included in the draft agenda of the 10th Session of the NA 5th convocation and upcoming 4-day sittings.
The Committee decided to organize the discussion of the bill on Amendments to the RA Law on Customs Regulation in the second reading within 24 hours.
The consideration of bills on Amendments to the RA Law on Value Added Tax, Amendments to the RA Law on Taxes, Amendments to the RA Law on Excise Tax, and the RA Air Code and the RA Tax Code was postponed up to a year by the authors’ proposal.
