RA NA President Galust Sahakyan Meets with the Young Republicans
1 / 9

On May 30 the RA NA President, the RPA Deputy Chairman Galust Sahakyan met with the participants of the meeting of the Youth Organization (YO) of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) in Tsaghkadzor. Taron Margaryan, the Mayor of Yerevan, the member of the RPA Executive body, and the Governor of Kotayk Marz Aram Harutyunyan attended the meeting.

Let us note that the three-day gathering is a meeting, when the heads of the RPA YO different structures make reports, present the works of their structures, and determine the upcoming works. The goal of the meeting is to provide the contact of the young republicans with the senior party members and the leaders of the party, discuss problems relating to the party works with those responsible for the sphere. About 260 young people took part in the meeting.

In his welcoming address Karen Avagyan, the NA deputy, the member of the RPA Executive body, the Head of the YO of the party, on behalf of the YO has congratulated Galust Sahakyan on the occasion of being elected the NA President, noting that the NA President has always been and remains next to the young people. He has said that after every next RPA congress the RPA YO convenes a meeting and discusses the addresses that have been sounded in the congress.

Welcoming the attendees, the NA President has noted that there are young people in the RPA, who today have serious role in the political life, legislative and executive bodies of our country. “The young people should be able not only to become idea bearers, but also direct a whole nation with the ideas,” Mr Sahakyan said. He advised the young people not to be led with party interests. “It will be much better to have your relations with the young people of other parties at necessary high level. We should move with the interests of the nation, the political forces should only be a means for the goals, and our goals are rather serious. We fight for the eternity of the nation and the state, having the party as a means for serving to it. You should be able to actively pave your way. We need young people, who can direct the society and have their dignified role in the national problems,” the NA President noted.

The Mayor of Yerevan Taron Margaryan highlighted the young people’s unity in the political life. He called on to actively cooperate with territorial and regional organizations.

In the course of the meeting the Head of the parliament answered the young people’s questions relating to the constitutional reforms, the role of the youth in the party work, the peculiarities of the legislative work, the works of the Youth Parliament, etc.

Touching upon the issue of the announcement of the President of Kazakhstan during the sitting of the Supreme Council of the Eurasian Economic Union in Astana, the NA president noticed that we should differentiate the diplomatic and public announcements made with certain purposes from the very negotiations. According to Galust Sahakyan, Nazarbayev with his words was trying to show his aimed attitude towards his Azerbaijani colleague. The Head of the parliament has stressed that  Nagorno Karabakh is the most important issue of our country. “Nagorno Karabakh is in one customs and economic territory with Armenia, and I would like once again to underline that there is no item of borders in the agenda of the Eurasian Economic Union. I would also like to remind you that the Eurasian Economic Union is based on the mutually beneficial cooperation,” Galust Sahakyan said.
