On December 28 on the occasion of the New Year and Holy Nativity the President of the RA National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan invited the heads and the journalists of the mass media accredited in the parliament to a festive reception. Addressing the attendees, the NA President said:

“Dear journalists,

I cordially congratulate all of you on the occasion of the New Year and the Holy Nativity.

I have always highlighted the role of the objective, unbiased media and have tried to realistically evaluate its importance in the social-political life. The bigger is the importance of information technologies in this rapidly developing world, the more significant is the role of the creator of the information, your role, dear journalists. Evaluating your professional activity I wish each of you to realize the importance of tolerance and restraint in everyday work.

Dear journalists,

I can document that the year 2013 has been a year of effective work for the National Assembly in terms of both legislative and parliamentary diplomacy. The parliament is a tribune of pluralism, and it’s natural that there should be also disagreements, clashes of political views and interests. We are firm to continue our activity for the sake of the stability and progress of our country. From this viewpoint our cooperation, dear journalists, I think has been and will be effective.

Dear journalists,

I highly appreciate your role in the public life and I wish you to be constantly guided with public interest, sincere aspirations and patriotism in your concerns and publications. I am confident that hereinafter your vocation for journalism will drive you to fulfill your mission with dignity and responsibility.

I wish the year 2014 to be a year of good news. I wish you professional rise, success, health and happiness. Let it be peace in the coming year in our Motherland. We enter into the year of 2014 with the faith of promising future for Armenia and the Armenian people.
