On June 8 the National Assembly began its last four-day sittings of the spring session by approving the draft law decisions of the National Assembly on making addenda on the agenda of the fifth session of the fourth convocation, on the agenda of the four-day sittings and on the special procedure of the debate of a number of draft laws.
The NA deputies passed by voting the 4 bills debated in the previous sitting and continued the debate of the package of the bills, interrupted in the previous four-day sittings, suggesting amendments to the laws On Administrative Infringements, On Excise Tax, On Profit Tax, On Taxes, and On Value Added Tax.
In his extraordinary speech NA Vice Speaker Mr. Samvel Nikoyan said that the coalition government presented a document, which also criticizes the coalition parliamentary forces, which is a regular process.
Head of Heritage Faction Mr. Armen Martirosyan gave a speech on behalf of the faction. He considered unusual that the Government brought to the parliament non- substantiated packages. In this case there are acceptable and unacceptable draft laws, but you had to vote for the whole package. Mr. Martirosyan called on to vote against the bill, which was hindering the free economic competitiveness on behalf of the faction.
Mr. Artsruni Aghajanyan presented the view of the Country of Law Faction and noticed that the Government tried to reduce the existing shadow in the economy, but the ways of solution are unacceptable, as the principle of the equal tax field for all business entities. The Country of Law Faction proposes to reduce the duration of checking.
Head of the Republican Party of Armenia Mr. Galust Sahakyan reminded his colleagues that his faction asked to debate in detail the bill. According to the speaker, as the issue is of political character, the RPA will debate with other factions and finds effective solutions to reduce the shadow with the government.
In his concluding speech RA Deputy Minister of Finance Mr. Suren Karayan noted that as a result of debates the bill had been edited, and the government is ready from now on to discuss the targeting proposals and jointly find the effective solution of the issue.
The National Assembly also debated the issue of electing the Chairpersons for the NA Standing Committees On Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs and On European Integration.
Mr. Vahan Hovhannisyan proposed the nomination of Mr. Hrayr Karapetyan for the vacant post of the Chairperson of the Standing Committee On Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs, and Mr. Aram Safaryan proposed for the vacant post of the Chairperson of the Standing Committee On European Integration Mrs. Naira Zohrabyan’s candidacy.
NA deputies Mr. Hrayr Karapetyan and Mrs. Naira Zohrabyan presented their view on the works and plans for the appropriate committees.
Representatives of RPA and PAP factions Mr. Eduard Sharmazanov and Mr. Aram Safaryan spoke about the two candidates’ virtues, about the expediency of their being elected in those posts and called on their colleagues to vote for the candidates.
As a result of secret ballot voting, Mr. Hrayr Karapetyan was elected with 91 for, 3 against votes Chairman of NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs, and Mrs. Naira Zohrabyan was elected Chairperson of NA Standing Committee on European Integration with the same results.
The NA deputies also began debating the issue on approving the annual report on RA 2008 State Budget. Execution.

Chairman of NA Standing Committee on Financial- Credit and Budgetary Affairs Mr. Gagik Minasyan touched upon the tax and customs entries.
