On March 2, the RA National Assembly continued the work of the regular sittings. The parliament by voting passed the bills debated on the previous day.
Afterwards the parliament began the debate of the issue for the election of the RA President. The RA NA Vice President, the NA Acting President Hakob Arshakyan informed that Vahagn Khachaturyan’s candidacy was nominated in the post of the RA President by the application in written form of 65 deputies of the National Assembly prescribed by Article 125.3 and Article 139.4 of the constitutional law the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly.
The Head of the NA Civil Contract Faction Hayk Konjoryan, presenting Vahagn Khchaturyan’s biography and long-year work experience, noted that he was born in 1959, Candidate of Economics, non-partisan, in 1991-1999 he was NA deputy, and before nominated him as RA President on 4 August 2021 the post of the RA Minister of Hi-Tech Industry.
Hayk Konjoryan particularly noted: “Vahagn Khachaturyan is in sources of the statehood building of the Republic of Armenia. He has proven with his passed path and biography that he is worth to hold the high post of the President of the Republic. He definitely can fulfill with prudence and open-mindedness this important mission with in these historical times with great honour and responsibility. These bases serve as a reason that the deputies of the Civil Contract Faction nominated Vahagn Khachaturyan’s candidacy.”
“The deputies of the Civil Contract Faction will unanimously elect Vahagn Khachaturyan as President of the Republic,” the Head of the Faction summed up.
The NA Armenia and With Honor factions don’t take part the debate of the issue.
