RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan on May 21 in Tsakhkadzor Youth Center of the Armenian Youth Fund took part at the Students’ Conference with the heading Armenia’s Economy Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, which was organized by the Students’ Council of the Armenian State University of Economics and by the support of the Armenian Youth Fund.

Welcoming the participants the NA Speaker said:

“It’s always a pleasure to meet with the youth. If you look at working schedule, you’ll see that I meet a lot with the youth. It’s not accidental because the youth is one of the most important motivating forces of our society, if not the most important thing. You are aware that in the National Assembly we have initiated Youth Parliament, and the first sitting will be held in the near future, perhaps, at the beginning of June. I am sure that in this hall there are people, who will take part in the works of the parliament.

The holding of the scientific conference with your announced heading means that the young people do not put themselves out of the processes taking place in the country, feel responsibility for the future of the state, and they are ready to take part in the solution of the existing problems.

I don’t want to overload you with statistical data and analyses, which, certainly will sound during the conference. Generalizing, I’ll say that Armenia’s economy is gradually restored from the consequences of the financial crisis, though the main challenges still exist. And they must be overcome with joint efforts, practical steps, but not by giving a speech or a lecture.

I think that the changes of the attitude and way of thinking in economy, and particularly, in agriculture are visible. As a result of the abrupt mediation and assignments of the President of the Republic, progress is already seen in this sector of the economy.

Not only in the process of the economy restoration, but, in general, in all processes of public life the participation of the youth is very important. You are the very potential, the involvement, the use, and assessment of which is useful for every society.

Understanding that the youth is the most important factor for the progress of the country, the state takes steps in solving the problems regarding them. Naturally, this is not all that the state would like to do but today’s possibilities are these by now. On the other hand, the youth shall propose ideas and steps in order to add the possibilities of the state and contribute to it with its actions. Eventually, everybody will benefit from having a strong country, competitive economy: our state, our society and our people. I think that on their way of jointly working, solving the problems together the young people will have opportunity to fulfill their ideas, to turn into practice the ideas that you all have.

I hope that this scientific conference will bring forth new ideas, approaches, proposals and will have its contribution in solving the problems of the economic sphere.”

Highly assessing the holding of such conference and thanking the organizers Hovik Abrahamyan wished fruitful work and considered desirable that it would continue, and there would be discussions in different tribunes.

Touching upon the creation of the Youth Parliament, the NA Speaker noted that it would be a platform, where the young people could present proposals and actively take part in the political, economic life of the country. “We’ll be consecutive in order to establish the Youth Parliament,” Hovik Abrahamyan said, expressing conviction that it would give big opportunity the youth, the youth organizations, educational councils to take part in it and voice issues concerning them.

In Tsakhkadzor the NA Speaker took part not only in the scientific conference, but also in the participants’ leisure time, in their sport events.
