On November 6, the members of the RA NA Armenia-China Friendship Group met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) to Armenia Tian Erlong. The Head of the Friendship Group Hermine Naghdalyan welcomed the Ambassador and presented the members of the Friendship Group formed in the newly elected parliament. In Mrs Naghdalyan’s word, the friendly traditions formed in the parliament in the previous years will continue promoting the deepening of the friendship of the two countries and peoples. Hermine Naghdalyan highlighted the joint work of the RA NA Friendship Group and the Embassy in the development of the mutual visits, bilateral relations and cooperation. The Head of the Friendship Group has noted that the inter-parliamentary relations have been established, but there are many things to do. Mrs Naghdalyan in detail touched upon the priorities of Armenia’s political agenda and underlined the importance of China’s balanced position in the important issues for our country. Hermine Naghdalyan has highly assessed the Ambassador’s activities in the development of bilateral relations and strengthening of cooperation, noting that the Friendship Group is ready to support the initiatives and the programmes of the Embassy.

Mrs Naghdalyan invited the members of China-Armenia Friendship Group of the PRC Parliament to Armenia.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the PRC to the RA Tian Erlong has noted that the Armenian-Chinese friendship has deep roots, and China greatly emphasizes the deepening of partnership, and friendship relations. The Ambassador emphasized the involvement of the representatives of different political parties in the RA NA Friendship Group and expressed willingness to cooperate with the members of the Friendship Group. In the Ambassador’s word, China is ready to expand the relations with the Friendship Groups of the parliaments of different countries, boosting the cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest. Tian Erlong has documented that the approach of the Chinese authorities is unchangeable - to make closer the relations with Armenia: recently a Memorandum was signed between Yerevan and the Chinese city of Qingdao (also Tsingtao), creating a new platform for mutually beneficial cooperation between the cities. Tian Erlong has noted that China strives to establish relations based on mutual respect, justice, harmony and equality with different countries of the world, including Armenia.

At the end of the meeting the interlocutors touched upon a number of problems of bilateral interest, and the Ambassador answered the questions of the Friendship Group members.
