On December 9, within the framework of the visit to the Republic of Kyrgyzstan the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov met with the representatives of the Armenian community in Bishkek. The parties highlighted the strengthening of the Motherland-Diaspora ties and the sowing of national ideology among the Armenian youth. Addressing his compatriots, Eduard Sharmazanov particularly noted: “On this day in 1948, December 9, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of Crime of Genocide was adopted by the UN. Our people also greatly suffered from the genocide. It is worth mentioning that after decades Turkey has not changed its denial policy. Moreover, in April of this year the Turks were encouraging Azerbaijan’s terrorist and inhuman actions towards freedom aspiring people of Artsakh. The criminal policy of Turkey and Azerbaijan has no excuse and should be condemned. But the most preventive means is the building of the strong Motherland - our national idea. Strong Artsakh and strong Diaspora – this is the resolution of our strength. Today, more than ever our unity is an imperative.”
