On November 16, the fourth-form students of the TV and Radio Journalism Division of the Faculty of Culture of Khachatur Abovyan State Pedagogical University visited the RA National Assembly. The NA Speaker Galust Sahakyan conducted the open lesson. The NA deputy Margarit Yesayan, who is the students’ lecturer, also attended the meeting.

Welcoming those present, the NA Speaker has noted that the parliament is the venue, where the political forces having disputes with each other, find the solutions of the issues regarding different spheres.

The NA Speaker presented in detail the package of the RA draft laws on Compensation of the Damages Caused to the Servicemen’s Life or Health during the RA Defense, on Amending the RA Law on Servicemen’s and Their Family Members’ Social Security and on Amending the RA Law on State Pensions, being under debate and submitted by the Government. Galust Sahakyan particularly touched upon a number of issues raised by the students on the package: the management of the financial means to be collected, the accessibility to the beneficiaries, the fact of the process to be simple and transparent, also the state servants, who will be exempted from those payments. According to the NA Speaker, this is one more step to indicate that every Armenian stands next to the army.

The NA Speaker also referred to corruption, combat against it and the problems of the TV journalism sphere.
