On November 11, the RA NA Standing Committees convened sittings.

The NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs moderated by Vardan Ayvazyan in the first reading debated the package of the draft law on the RA Civil Code authored by the Government and the enclosed draft laws.

The RA Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan submitted the package.

The Deputy Head of the State Property Management Department adjunct to RA Government Ashot Markossyan presented the draft law on Amending the RA Law on State Property Privatization Programme for 2006-2007.

The Committee submitted an endorsement to the legislative initiatives, which will be included in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA session and the upcoming four-day sittings.

The Committee also proposed to organize the debate of the package of the draft law on Amending the RA Civil Code after passing it in the first reading within 24 hours.

The RA NA Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs moderated by Hovhannes Sahakyan held at the regular sitting in the first reading debated and endorsed two legislative initiatives, by which amendments are proposed in the RA Criminal Judicial Code. The draft laws will be included in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA session and the upcoming four-day sittings.

The RA Deputy Minister of Justice Artak Asatryan submitted the bill on Amending the RA Criminal Judicial Code.

On the same day the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs moderated by Gagik Minasyan debated the annual programme of the Activities of the RA Control Chamber for 2017, which submitted the Deputy Chairman of the RA Control Chamber Ara Nranyan.

The deputies also debated the draft law on the RA State Budget for 2017. The key speaker, the Committee Chair Gagik Minasyan presented the main emphases of the document, and the co-speaker, the RA Minister of Finance Vardan Aramyan talked about the macro-economic indices of the draft law.

The package of the bill on Amending the RA Law on Securities Market and the enclosed submitted bills were debated in the second reading.

The Committee endorsed the debated items for including them in the draft law of the agenda of the NA November 14-17 four-day sittings.

At the sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Elinar Vardanyan in the first reading debated the RA draft law on Parties, which the RA Justice Minister Arpine Hovhannisyan.

The submitted item was endorsed for including it in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA Session and the upcoming four-day sittings.

Afterwards, the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Artur Hovhannisyan submitted for debate the draft laws on Human Rights Defender and on Amending the RA Criminal Executive Code and the enclosed legislative package.

The draft law on NGOs and the enclosed legislative package was debated in the second reading procedure, which was endorsed and will be included in the draft law of the agenda of the NA upcoming four-day sittings.

At the extraordinary sitting of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs moderated by Koryun Nahapetyan the package of the RA draft laws on Compensation of the Damages Caused to the Servicemen’s Life or Health during the RA Defense, on Amending the RA Law on Servicemen’s and Their Family Members’ Social Security and on Amending the RA Law on State Pensions, which submitted the RA Minister of Defense Vigen Sargsyan.

The Committee Chairman Koryun Nahapetyan talked about the parliamentary control and noted that the Committee will touch upon the activities of this Fund.

The NA deputies in their speeches and interpellations touched upon the necessity of the public debates on the item.

As a result of debates, the Committee endorsed the legislative package; it will be included in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA Session and the upcoming four-day sittings.
