On March 14, the RA National Assembly began the work of the regular four-day sittings.

At the beginning of the sitting the NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov informed that, according to the protocol of the RA Central Electoral Commission, the next candidate of the ARF proportional list Karen Shakhmuradyan was elected deputy of the National Assembly.

The NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov introduced the draft laws of the agendas of the session, then also the postponing of the NA draft law. The parliament approved by voting the draft laws of the agendas.

Afterwards the parliament by voting passed the package of bills on Amendments to the RA Law on Safe Use of Nuclear Energy for Peaceful Purposes and on Amendment to the RA Law on Organization and Holding of the Check-ups in the Republic of Armenia.

Then the National Assembly continued debating the Programme of the Activities of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission for 2016. The Commission Chairman Robert Nazaryan touched upon the events aimed at the energy, gas, water tariff policy, the efficiency of the purchases, the quality indices of the consumers’ service and the regulation of the existing problems.

The NA deputies Edmon Marukyan, Nikol Pashinyan, Aram Manukyan, Hovhannes Margaryan, Heghine Bisharyan, Mher Shahgeldyan, Levon Zurabyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Vardan Ayvazyan continued presenting their viewpoints on the programme and touched upon the problems of the sphere.

In their final speeches the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Ayvazyan and the Chairman of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission Robert Nazaryan answered the deputies’ questions and expressed readiness for cooperating in future.

The legislative package envisaging amendments to the RA Law on Energy Saving and Renewable Energy and a number of laws enclosed to it, submitted by the RA Deputy Minister of the Energy and Natural Resources Areg Galstyan, was debated in the first reading.

Vardan Ayvazyan presented the endorsement of the Head Committee. The NA deputies Aram Manukyan, Ishkhan Khachatryan, Hovhannes Margaryan and Hrant Bagratyan delivered speeches on the package.

In his final speech the key speaker Areg Galstyan gave clarifications on the viewpoints sounded in the speeches.

The parliament in the first reading debated the package of bills on Amendment to the RA Law on Value Added Tax and on Amendments to the RA Law on Value Added Tax jointly submitted by the NA deputies and the RA Government.

The key speaker and the co-author Vardan Ayvazyan presented in detail the package of bills.

The parliament will continue the debate of the package of bills at March 15 NA sitting.
