On September 15 the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs Vardan Ayvazyan and the Deputy Chairman of the Committee Mikayel Melkumyan met with Zdeněk Škromach, Vice President of the Senate of the Czech Republic and the members of the Senate.

Welcoming the guests, Vardan Ayvazyan has noted that the RA National Assembly has friendly relations with the Senate of the Czech Republic. The Committee Chairman presented the spheres of the activity of the Committee led by him. Vardan Ayvazyan has informed that now our country is going to constitutional reforms, turning from the current system to the parliamentary system of government.

Both sides highlighted the mutual visits, as well as the development of cooperation of the National Assembly and the Senate, particularly, the Armenian-Czech further expansion of the inter-parliamentary relations.

In the course of the meeting the sides touched upon the cooperation of the two countries not only in political, but also in economic spheres. It has been noted that the Czech Republic as an EU member country has recorded considerable economic growth during the last years and is ready to expand the investments.

At the end of the meeting the sides once again have stressed that the spheres of cooperation of the two countries are multilateral and encompassing.

On the same day the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Agriculture and Environment Martun Grigoryan, Committee members Tatshat Vardapetyan, Mushegh Petoyan and Vahagn Makhsudyan met with Zdeněk Škromach, Vice President of the Senate of the Czech Republic, the members of the Senate and Petr Mikyska, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the RA.

Welcoming the guests Martun Grigoryan emphasized such meetings and expressed hope that the Armenian-Czech friendly relations would always serve for the sake of welfare and development of the two countries. He thanked Petr Mikyska, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic to the RA for the adoption of the resolution dedicated to the Armenian Genocide Centennial by the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic.

Zdeněk Škromach, Vice President of the Senate, has highlighted the ties of Armenia in the spheres of nature protection and agriculture and has noted that the Czech side is always ready to meet and discuss any issue relating to those spheres, making the cooperation more significant.

The sides particularly discussed issues concerning the export of fruits and vegetables from Armenia, and from the Czech Republic to Armenia the import of long-horned cattle and agricultural technologies and equipment.

Both parties also highlighted the development of the trade-economic relations.
