National Assembly Begins the Work of the Four-Day Sittings
1 / 12

On June 10 the RA National Assembly began the work of the next four-day sittings. After approving the NA decisions on making amendments on the agenda of the sessions and on the agenda of the June 10-13 four-day sittings the National Assembly by voting passed the bills debated in the previous four-day sittings.

The NA deputies continued the debate of the monetary policy program of the RA Central Bank for 2013 interrupted at the last hour of the four-day sittings.

The RA Minister of Finance Davit Sargsyan made a co-report.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan deemed conservative the predictions of the Central Bank on the economic growth.

Presenting the view of the ARF faction Artsvik Minasyan called on the MPs to review the pursuing policy, making it purposeful and consistent.

The Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan delivered an extraordinary speech on the issue under debate. He has considered natural the concerns expressed by the deputies during the debate of the issue, as everybody is concerned about the development of the economy of the country, by which is conditioned the rise of the citizens’ welfare and the perspectives of our country’s development in different spheres. The NA Speaker has reserved an important role to the right credit policy in the development of the country’s economy. To his evaluation, if low percentage and long-term credits are provided to the borrowers, it will simply promote the development of the economy, which in its turn will decrease the unemployment and emigration. The NA Speaker has noted that all of us are responsible for the development of economy and the problems facing the country.

Hovik Abrahamyan called on the RA Minister of Finance and the Chairman of the Central Bank to take adequate and responsible steps to the created situation and find the effective means for the solution of the problem with joint efforts.

The National Assembly debated the bill “On Providing Tax and Customs Privileges within the Framework of the Program 'Dilijan International School',” which presented the RA Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan.

The National Assembly will continue the debate of the issue at June 11 sitting.
