RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan Took Part in the Opening Ceremony of the Final Phase of the “National Assembly Cup” Competitions

On September 29 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan in Tsakhkadzor took part in the solemn opening ceremony of the final phase of the “National Assembly Cup” Competition, which were attending the NA Vice President Eduard Sharmazanov, the RA Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, the RA Minister of Sport and Youth Hrachya Rostomyan, the NA deputies, figures of education, culture and sport.

The pupils of the 4-6 classes, who showed best results in RA Marz phases, took part in the final phase of the “National Assembly Cup” Competition, as well as the delegation of the Republic of Nagorno Karabakh.

The “National Assembly Cup” Competition, which has been held since 2001, for about 11 educational years has become an inseparable part of school daily life for the pupils of low classes and paved a path for many of them to big sport.

The NA President Hovik Abrahamyan delivered a welcoming speech. “I welcome everybody on this fine autumn day, which I think from the beginning has infected everyone with good mood. I am convinced that our participants with their readiness and sport success will more raise that mood,” the Head of the parliament said.

He has noted that the “National Assembly Cup” Competition is one more occasion and opportunity to focus our attention to our young generation, to its physical upbringing, because, according to the NA President, healthy generation means both physical and spiritual healthy society, powerful state, and strong army.

Hovik Abrahamyan has mentioned that the track and field is the kind of sport that is really considered a queen of sport and fully contributes to having healthy body. According to the NA President, our compatriots in Armenia and beyond its borders have had good traditions in this kind of sport. He has reminded that the record of Europe, one of the components of the track and field, long jump, today belongs to our compatriot Robert Emmiyan, who is now the President of the Armenian Athletic Federation.

The Head of the parliament noted that the qualifying phases of the “National Assembly Cup” had already been held in the marzes of Armenia and Artsakh. “It is welcoming that our schoolchildren so actively take part in this competition. I am sure that those who deserve, and the strongest will win in the final phase,” Hovik Abrahamyan said.

Highly appreciating such events and their significance for the children, schoolchildren and in general, for the young generation, the NA President expressed readiness from now on to support and assist them.

Afterwards, the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan awarded the pupils, who showed best results in the sport of pulling rope at the “National Assembly Cup” competition.
