On March 15 the RA National Assembly Speaker Samvel Nikoyan received Wi Sung Lac, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Armenia. Congratulating the latter on assuming the new office Mr Nikoyan touched upon the already shaped Armenian-Korean close relations, and highlighted the further expansion and development of bilateral ties. The NA Speaker especially distinguished the existing inter-parliamentary cooperation and the need of its deepening. In his word, the relations between the parliaments can have considerable contribution to the rise of the level of mutual recognition of the two countries and peoples and to the revelation of the new spheres of cooperation.
The Head of the parliament has noted that the Armenian side highly appreciates the aid programmes being implemented by the Government of the Republic of Korea. In particular, as a result of bilateral cooperation the Session Hall of the RA National Assembly has been completely re-equipped and now it complies with the highest international standards.
Mr Nikoyan deemed important the activation of mutual visits between the two countries, exchange of experience, cooperation in different trade-economic, scientific-technical, educational, cultural and other directions, which would become an important impetus for developing and strengthening the Armenian-Korean relations.
Thanking for reception the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the RA noted that he would direct his efforts to deepening of relations and cooperation between the two countries, in particular, between the parliaments.
