On June 28 the Vice Speaker of the RA National Assembly Samvel Balasanyan received Farid Muhamedshin, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan /RF/ and Pavlo Matvienko, Chairman of the Zaporozhye Regional Council of Ukraine, who were in Armenia to take part in the meeting of the Current Affairs Committee of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe to be held in Yerevan on June 29.

During the meeting the possibilities of the development of multilateral relations between the administrative-territorial units of Armenia , Russia and Ukraine and the perspectives of the creation of the relevant legal-contractual base were discussed. According to the NA Vice Speaker Samvel Balasanyan’s assessment, we should more efficiently use the opportunities given by the historical friendly relations of the three countries for mutually beneficial multilateral relations, in particular, for the development of trade-economic relations: it’s high time good wishes and created mutual trust become a firm basis for the implementation of new programmes aimed at the regional cooperation.

The parties also discussed other issues of mutual interest.
