Not Only the Schoolchildren Visit Parliament, But Also the Deputies Go to School

On March 22 “the agenda” of the next Open Lesson held in the National Assembly was harmonious with the parliamentary next four-day sittings and today’s international happenings, the meeting with the schoolchildren with the students of the schools of Avan and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts of the capital hosted in the parliament the Speaker of the National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan during the question and answer session also touched upon the discussions on the draft laws of the Electoral Code.

The NA Speaker noted that there were many discussions over the electoral legislation, meetings with political forces and NGOs, which had highlighted the conduct of just and transparent elections, the draft law of the Electoral had been also sent to international examination, and it is under discussion in the National Assembly.

During the meeting of the NA Speaker with the schoolchildren the traditionally sounding issues, which related particularly, to the education and educational system, were not overturned. Hovik Abrahamyan urged the schoolchildren to effectively use their time and get essential knowledge. The NA Speaker was interested in the educational processes from the teachers present there and highly assessed the teachers’ activities and their contribution in the upbringing of the future generation, thanked all the teachers for their work and their devotion to their specialty.

At the meeting with the NA Speaker the schoolchildren also talked about the foreign policy, inflation, Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, TV programmes and films. In response, the NA Speaker said that during the Open Lessons the schoolchildren raise many interesting issues, make proposals, which later become a matter of discussion. Therefore, such meetings are very important with respect to mutual contacts, the works of the parliament, and getting familiarized with the MPs.

As a peculiar continuation of Open Lessons by the proposal of NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan not only the schoolchildren visit the parliament, but also the MPs go to school and have meetings with them. Now, already more than twenty MPs, who represent different political forces, have visited different schools and have met the schoolchildren and teachers.

At the session hall of the parliament the photo with the Speaker of the National Assembly summed up the visit of the schoolchildren from Avan and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts to the legislative higher body.
