National Assembly Continues the Work of the Four-Day Sittings

On October 26 the National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings and by voting passed all the bills, which were debated on the previous day. The voting of the debated bill on Making Addendum and Amendments to RA Law in RA Code on Administrative Infringements submitted by the NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, deputies Galust Sahakyan and Rafik Petrosyan, was postponed up to 15 days.

Young Diaspora Armenians, who take part in the 6th phase of Come Home programme of RA Ministry of Diaspora, attended the sitting within the framework of the Open Doors policy.

The parliament ended the debate of the draft laws on Making Addendum and Amendments to RA Law in RA Code on Administrative Infringements and on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law in RA Judicial Code, which was debated in the first reading on the previous day.

The parliament debated the bill submitted by the Government on Temporary Invalidity Allowances with enclosed package.

RA Deputy Minister of Education and Science Ara Avetisyan proposed for debate in the first reading the legislative package on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on Education and on Making Amendments and Addendum to RA Law on Higher and Post-Higher Specialized Education.

The parliament debated in the second reading the draft law on Making Addendum to RA Law on Value Added Tax.

The draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda to RA Law on Profit Tax,w hich was endorsed by the NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.

Afterwards RA Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan in the first reading presented for debate the legislative package proposing amendments and addenda in the bills on Patent Payments and dozens of enclosed bills.

The deputy Artsruni Aghajanyan and the NA Vice Speaker Samvel Balasanyan presented their positive stance on tax reforms. Samvel Balasanyan in his extraordinary speech welcomed the legislative initiative of making tax reforms.

RA Deputy Minister of Finance Suren Karayan submitted to the parliament for debate the draft law on Making Amendments and Addenda in RA Customs Code in the first reading procedure.

The debate of the bill will be continued at October 27 sitting of the National Assembly.

At the end of the working day, according to NA Rules of Procedure, the deputies made announcements.
