Parliament Continues the Work of the Four-Day Sittings

On October 6 the parliament continued the work of the four-day sittings, ending the debate of the draft law on Making Addenda and Amendments to RA Law on Excise Tax, presented by RA Government, which was interrupted on the previous day.

In connection with this RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan gave an extraordinary speech. He noted: “I don’t think that there is any government, which does not think about its producer. In my opinion, it must think and support the local producers. I think that the necessity of the adoption of the bill has connection with a number of obligations before the international organizations assumed by the government. There are many civilized methods, by which the government can support the inner producer.” Hovik Abrahamyan noted that they should help the local producer that could be competitive in the market and subsidize the spheres, where they should raise the taxes. He expressed conviction that the coalition and would try to facilitate the local producers’ tax loading and protect their interests. “I don’t accept the view that the RA Government and RA National Assembly do not support the inner producer, and I am sure that all our counterparts sitting in the hall are concerned about the local producers’ support. We are also obliged to do our best in order not to have our jobs discharged by the laws adopted by us. Later we should have discussions and make legislative initiatives and till the end of the year we should try to make amendments.”

Then the deputies adopted the discussed bill by voting.

The MPs debated in the first reading the bill on Making Addenda to RA Law on Profit Tax presented by RA Government.

The MPs debated in the first reading the legislative package on Making Amendment to RA Law on Education, on Making Addenda to RA Law on Higher Education and Post-Higher Education Specialized Education and on Making Addenda to RA Law on Primary Specialized and Secondary Specialized Education.

The NA Vice Speaker Samvel Nikoyan delivered an extraordinary speech on the legislative package.

The bill on amending the Civil Code of the Republic of Armenia submitted by RA NA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan, deputies Galust Sahakyan was debated in the first reading.

RA Minister of Transport and Communication Manuk Vardanyan introduced the convention on International Railway Transportations, presented by RA President, which was signed on May 9, 1980 and the credit agreement between the Republic of Armenia and Reconstruction and Development International Bank, which was signed on July 23, 23 2010.

The member of the NA Standing Committee of Foreign Relations Lyova Khachatryan endorsed the debated agreement and convention.
