On July 21 the joint working sitting of the Armenian delegation in Armenia-European Union Parliamentary Cooperation Committee and Eastern Partnership Parliamentary Assembly Euronest, to which the RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian was invited to take part.
At the beginning of the sitting RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian gave comprehensive information about the last meeting, which took place in Almaty and the latest developments over the settlement of NK problem. The Foreign Minister and the members of the two delegations exchanged opinions over the present phase of the negotiating process of the Karabakh conflict, as well as possible developments.
The second issue of the agenda related to the issues of coordinating the work of the delegations of the Armenian Parliament in international structures and the ministry. The members of the delegation voiced proposals, which would give opportunity to make the work of the parliamentary delegations more effective, as well as mechanisms were presented to make more practical the relations between the National Assembly-the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The Head of the Armenian delegation in the Eastern Partnership Parliamentary Assembly Euronest, Vahan Hovhannisyan presented details about the last visit to Brussels of the delegation led by RA NA President, especially emphasizing the problems of the parliamentary cooperation. Mr. Hovhannisyan also introduced the latest developments on Euronest, saying that most probably the first sitting will be convened in September.
The Co-Chair of Armenia-European Union Parliamentary Cooperation Committee Naira Zohrabyan provided information about her last visit to Warsaw, where the Eastern Partnership programme was discussed. Mrs. Zohrabyan provided information about the sitting of Armenia-European Union Parliamentary Cooperation Committee being held in November.
As the agenda of the sitting was not exhausted an agreement was reached to invite once again RA Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian in the nearest future to more inclusively discuss the issues of inter-parliamentary diplomacy.
