Delegation Led by Vahan Naribekyan is in Israel on Working Visit

The delegation led by the Chief of Staff, Secretary General of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Naribekyan is in Israel on a working visit.

On July 18, the delegation visited the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and met with the Armenian Patriarch of Jerusalem, His Beatitude Archbishop Nourhan Manougian. During the meeting, reference was made to the activities of the Armenian Patriarchate, the connection between the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem and Armenia. Vahan Naribekyan expressed readiness to always support the Armenian Patriarchate of Jerusalem within the framework of his powers.

On July 19, the NA Chief of Staff, Secretary General met with Knesset Director General Gil Segal. Issues aimed at strengthening and deepening the cooperation of the staffs of the parliaments of the two countries were discussed. Both sides reached an agreement to develop the cooperation of the staffs in different directions, to design joint programmes. Vahan Naribekyan emphasized the readiness of the RA NA staff to cooperate with international partners.

The Armenian delegation also participated in the seminar held at the Knesset for professional representatives holding senior roles at parliaments. High-ranking officials from the staffs of the German Bundestag, the Great Britain House of Commons, the House of Commons of Canada, the Austrian Parliament and the parliaments of a number of other countries took part in the event. The introduction of modern technologies, budgeting and research capacity for the regulation of staff activities were discussed, the mechanisms of democratic education of the Knesset staff were presented.

The Speaker of the Knesset MK Mickey Levy also welcomed the participants of the staff, highlighting the huge potential of the staffs and the impact on the effective and uninterrupted functioning of parliaments.
