1 / 3

On March 7, the briefings following the NA regular sittings were held, where the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Eduard Aghajanyan and the member of the NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security Vahagn Aleksanyan took part.

The journalist has been interested in the position of Armenia in case, if the strategic partner of Armenia, the CSTO proposes to carry out the CSTO mechanisms.

Eduard Aghajanyan has noted that now such issue is not under discussion, therefore, he cannot present any position on the supposed, non-existing agenda. “If there is such concrete situation, according to the situation and substantiation, the issue will be discussed,” he said.

“Here it is important to fix that the CSTO mechanisms work, when one of the CSTO member states are attacked, and moving the military operations to the territory of the Russian Federation at least at this moment I don’t consider possible,” Vahagn Aleksanyan.

The journalist has been interested in the works done at the level of parliamentary diplomacy with regards to the security of the representatives of the Armenian community of Ukraine, and if there are representatives of the Armenian community, who have moved to Armenia through the state.

“I am in contact with the Ambassador of Armenia to Ukraine, our Embassy actively works with the representatives of our community, in order to ensure the security of them. I can say that with the help of the Embassy the representatives of the Armenian community in Ukraine have been displaced from one place to another,” Eduard Aghajanyan said, adding that according to his information, the Armenian Embassy has moved from Kyiv to Lviv. The reason of their moving are the military operations happening in Kyiv.

“For any representative of the Armenian community, who wishes to leave the territory, all the opportunities are created for returning to Armenia through the bordering states with Ukraine. Our Embassy in Ukraine does all the best in order that process will be easier,” the deputy noted.

He also informed that the issues and the current problems related to the RA all citizens are coordinated and resolved through the RA Embassy to Ukraine.

The deputy has assured that there are all the conditions in Armenia in order the citizens, who have suffered, as a result of that process in this or that way, will be provided corresponding assistance.
