On March 11 the sitting of Compatriotic Associations affiliated with NA President was held, where the key problems of the Compatriotic Associations, the work done after the previous sittings, directions of the further activity and other issues were discussed.

The NA President Artur Baghdasaryan highlighted the detailed study of the legislative field related to compatriotic associations for correction of the legislation drawbacks and assist to fulfill the target programs of compatriotic associations, and he also has called for uniting the potential of the associations and direct to the solution of national problems. Mr. Baghdasaryan considered unacceptable the politicization of Compatriotic Associations, considering it as a basic function of political parties.

Boris Shahnazaryan, the coordinator of the council’s activities, highlighted the emerging of compatriotic associations, not included in governmental structures, but representing interests of various public groups as they have the overall aims in favor of nation and therefore, it is necessary to create conditions for their effective activity with concentrating and joining general efforts. In the opinion of council members, the council will enable to bring the people’s problems to the National Assembly to develop and settle the legislative field concerning the compatriotic associations, to promote the unification of compatriotic associations in the Motherland and in Diaspora and fulfillment of various programs in the favor of the nation.

Heads of compatriotic associations presented the issues accumulated during the last months and issues of their concern, the viewpoints on further projects of the council. The NA President Artur Baghdasaryan assured that the raised issues, after being discussed according to the working procedure, will find their possible solutions and called for presenting proposals, to specify ways on not only individual, but also general key problems as many certain key problems and difficulties are conditioned and solved by system changes
