On March 3 RA NA President Artur Baghdasaryan received the experts of OSCE/ODIHR and CE Venice Commission, which were in Yerevan with the purpose of discussion of the written experimental conclusion of the Electoral Code.
The Parliament President noted that the aim of the National Assembly of Armenia is the improvement of the Electoral Code, acceptance of such law, which can provide the elections to be held, corresponding to democratic criteria. It has also been noted that 30 provisions from 61, presented by experimental conclusion, were passed, 11 included agreement and praise, and around other 20, the viewpoints will be clarified as a result of discussion with participation of parliamentary political forces, RA President, Minister of Justice and CEC and representatives of NGOs.
In the gilded hall of the National Assembly, presided by Artur Baghdasaryan, debates were held related to the RA draft law “On Making Amendments and Addendum to the Electoral Code.” Experts of OSCE/ODIHR and Venice Commission, MPs Galust Sahakyan, Samvel Nikoyan /RPA/, Hovhannes Margaryan /OYe/, Hrayr Karapetyan/ARF/, Koryun Arakelyan/ “Azgayin Miabanutyun”(National Unity,)/ Shavarsh Kocharyan and Grigor Harutyunyan/“Ardarutiun,”(Justice)/ Grigor Ghonjeyan/ULP,/ Mkrtich Minasyan/ /“ People’s Deputy” Group,/ Vladimir Pryakhin, Head of the OSCE Armenian Office, Ambassador and Elaine Konkievich, Deputy Head, Vrezh Gasparyan, Head of the State and Legal Department, Garegin Azaryan, CEC Chairman, Tigran Mukuchyan, Deputy Minister of Justice, representatives of NGOs participated in the debates.
