On May 13 the delegation of the Committee on Petitions of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic led by Zuzka Bebarová-Rujbrová being in Yerevan visited Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Genocide Complex.
The Czech parliamentarians laid a wreath and flowers at the 1915 Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex and honoured the memory of one and a half million innocent victims with a minute of silence.
Noting that she had heard about the Armenian Genocide for the first time during her student years, and had got further familiarized with it and studied it while preparing to visit Armenia, the Head of the delegation Zuzka Bebarová-Rujbrová said: “It is the first time we are here, in the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex, and we pay our tribute to the Armenian people, whom 99 years ago in Turkey they wanted to annihilate by genocide. We hope that in future such crimes will not be repeated. The Czech nation, the Czech people treat with respect the Armenian Genocide.”
