On May 29 Chairman of RA NA Standing Committee on Science, Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Mr. Artak Davtyan met with the delegation led by the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Ivan Tokajiev. The delegation visited Armenia on the occasion of the Year of Bulgaria in Armenia. RA Minister of Culture Mrs. Hasmik Poghosyan attended the meeting.

Welcoming the guests Mr. Artak Davtyan highly assessed the Armenian-Bulgarian centuries-long relations and noted that different events envisaged within the year of Bulgarian Culture will make closer the two peoples and promote the further development of the relations.

In his word, the Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria Mr. Ivan Tokajiev said that a Year of Armenian Culture is envisaged to hold in Bulgaria and for that purpose various programmes are worked out next year. Highly assessing the historical relations of the two nations Mr. Tokajiev expressed hope that the cultural mutual contacts will deepen the relations.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee proposed Mr. Tokajiev to support in returning to Armenia the 187 copies of Razmik (Warrior) periodical, in which the activities of the Armenian community was covered. Garegin Nzhdeh and the Armenian community published the periodical in Plovdiv in 1937-1944. Mr. Tokajiev promised to do his utmost and organize the return of the periodical of historical value to Armenia.
