On May 19, on the occasion of the opening of the Armenian branch of the “Academy of Security, Defence and Law Enforcement” all-Russian organization, a prize-giving ceremony was held in the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) State University. Representatives of the National Assembly, government, scientists and others attended the ceremony.

Armen Darbinyan, the Rector of Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) State University, highlighting the role of the “Academy of Security, Defence and Law Enforcement” all-Russian organization in the development of the Armenian and world science underscored that members of the Academy study the national economy security, the fight against international terrorism, political security and other main issues.

Viktor Ivlev, the Vice-president of the “Academy of Security, Defence and Law Enforcement” all- Russian organization, informed that academy branches already operate in 8 CIS countries.

NA President Artur Baghdasaryan was awarded “Peter the Great” order of the first degree for the contribution in the development of friendship and cooperation between Armenia and Russia. Mher Shahgeldyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Defence, National Security and Internal Affairs, Hayk Haroutyunyan, Head of RA Police, Gorik Hakobyan, Chief of RA National Security, Zhirayr Kharatyan, the General and others were awarded“Alexander Nevsky” order of the first degree.

Armen Darbinyan, the Rector of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) State University was awarded the “Lomonosov” prize for outstanding achievements in the sphere of science and education.

NA President Artur Baghdasaryan, greeting the administration of the Academy and Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) State University, thanked for the award. He assured that he was and will be supporter of Armenian-Russian cooperation development.
