We have a very good history of friendly relations with Estonia. There are realistic preconditions for developing the cooperation between the two countries on the bases of that history. As a Head of Armenia-Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia Friendship Group, I highlight the cooperation also on the parliamentary platform between the legislative bodies of the two countries: the deputy of the RA NA Civil Contract Faction Arsen Torosyan said during the meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Armenia Riina Kaljurand on July 8.

Thanking Arsen Torosyan for the warm reception, the Ambassador of Estonia noted that the mutual visits and meetings, the discussions and the activation of cooperation in a number of spheres are on the agenda.

The Head of the Friendship Group added that the inter-parliamentary format is the best platform of for the discussion of the issues of bilateral interest, and the mutual visits and direct contacts will give new breath to the inter-parliamentary cooperation, He also underlined that the Estonian successful experience has always been an example for Armenia in a number of spheres, as the digital technologies, education and health, and there is a potential for active cooperation in those spheres.

Arsen Torosyan noted that Armenia expects support in the settlement of relations with the neighbours from its partners, including Estonia through diplomatic efforts, which eventually will result in the establishment of peace between the regional countries, and it is important not only for the countries of our region, but also in a wider context, taking into consideration the geopolitical developments of recent period, and the economic crisis caused because of that, and the disruption of traditional transport communications between the eastern and western parts of our continent.
