On April 7, in Athens the Chair of the NA Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan and the Chief of Staff, Secretary General Vahan Naribekyan discussed the situation created in Artsakh and around Artsakh, as well as the geopolitical current unstable situation with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hellenic Parliament on National Defense and Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Gioulekas.
The Greek deputy highlighted the issue of the cultural heritage preservation, condemned the fact of Armenian prisoners being in Azerbaijan until now, and in that context, stressed the importance of the adequate response of the international community.
The sides touched upon the historical process of the Armenian-Greek warm relations and expressed conviction that the relations between the fraternal peoples would more deepen. Mr Gioulekas sent his congratulation to the representatives of the Armenian delegation on the election of the President of Armenia and conveyed the greetings of the President of the Parliament and the members of the Committee led by him.
The interlocutors also talked about the Armenian Diaspora, its role and potential.
At the meeting the RA Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Hellenic Republic Tigran Mkrtchyan attended the meeting and made some remarks.
