Babken Tunyan

Born September 6, 1980 in Yerevan.

2001 - Graduated from the Faculty of Economics of YSU (Yerevan state University).

2003 - Master’s degree of the same Faculty. Master of Economics.

2007 - London School of Economics (LSE) - a three-month training course in Economics and Public Administration.

Participated in a number of retraining courses: “Conflictology and negotiations” (2006, International Centre for Human Development, Yerevan), “Training for trainers” (lecturers) (2006, London), practical training at the TV channel “BBC Parliament” (2007, London), “Election processes,” “Press Freedom,” “Armenia-EU relations” (2011, Paris, Strasbourg), “International Visitor Leadership” program (2011, USA).

1998 - 1999 - Assistant to the Head of the Department for Refugees and Migration of the Armenian Red Cross Society.

2000 - 2002 - Assistant to the Chair of the NGO of Manufacturers and Exporters of Natural Active Materials.

2005-2018 - Economic commentator, economic editor of the newspaper “168 hours” and the web site 168.am.

2005-2006 - Translator and editor for sports news at “TV-5.”

2007-2009 - Chief Editor of “3 million” magazine.

2009 - 2012 - Director-founder of the company “BE -VIT.”

2015 - Founded, and until January 14, 2019 headed, the B4B.am.information and analytical platform.

December 9, 2018 - Elected a Member of Parliament of the National Assembly from the national electoral list of the “My Step” alliance of parties.

January 18, 2019 - Elected Chairman of the Standing Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

Awarded Prize for “The Best Elucidation” (2006, British Council), (2013, Union of Banks of the Republic of Armenia), (2014 and 2016 Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia).

Married, with two children.
