On June 13, the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Georgia to the Republic of Armenia George Saganelidze.
Welcoming the Ambassador, Eduard Sharmazanov documented with satisfaction the Armenian and Georgian peoples’ traditional friendship and highlighted the further development and expansion of the Armenian and Georgian ties in all possible directions. In this context, the NA Deputy Speaker considered necessary the activation of the parliamentary relations between the two countries not only at the level of the Parliamentary Friendship Groups, but also that of the Committees.
Ambassador George Saganelidze congratulated Eduard Sharmazanov on being re-elected in the responsible post of the NA Deputy Speaker. He expressed confidence that the Armenian-Georgian relations will further strengthen and develop in the future, and for which the parliaments of the two countries can also serve as the most important platform.
The interlocutors touched upon the regional problems and the external political directions of the two countries, highlighted the cooperation and mutual understanding on different platforms. Touching upon the problems of the two countries, both parties underlined the necessity of solving the problems exclusively through peaceful means and the importance of the establishment of good-neighbourly relations with the neighbouring countries.
