On October 21, the NA Standing Committees convened sittings.

The RA AN Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs moderated by Hovhannes Sahakyan in the first reading debated the legislative package on Amending the RA Law on RA Citizenship and on Amending the RA Code on Administrative Infringements, which submitted the Deputy Head of the RA Police Vardan Yeghiazaryan.

The legislative package was endorsed by the Committee for being included in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA session and the upcoming four-day sittings.

Afterwards the NA deputy Artak Davtyan submitted for debate the draft law on Amending the RA Criminal Code authored by him, the NA deputies Karine Atshemyan and Mkrtich Minasyan.

As a result of debates, the bill with the endorsement of the Committee will be included in the draft law of the agenda of the NA session.

At October 21 the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations moderated by Artak Zakaryan debated the Agreement on Mutual Legal Aid on Criminal Cases between the Republic of Armenia and the State of Kuwait signed in Yerevan on March 23, 2016, which presented the RA Deputy Minister of Justice Vigen Kocharyan.

Vigen Kocharyan also presented the Protocol 16 of the Convention on Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms signed on October 2, 2013.

The RA First Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Artur Arakelyan presented an Agreement and a Convention for debate.

The debated international agreements with the Committee’s endorsement will be submitted for the ratification of the parliament.

The deputies debated and endorsed after editing on the basis of the recommendation the RA NA Draft Statement on Condemning the Genocide Actions Perpetrated towards the Iraqi Yezidis authored by the MPs Naira Zohrabyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, Aragats Akhoyan, Lyova Khachatryan, Vahan Karapetyan, Tevan Poghosyan, Armen Avetisyan, and it will be included in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA Session and four-day sittings.

The RA NA Standing Committee on Economic Affairs moderated by the Vardan Ayvazyan in the first reading debated the bill on the Activities of Nairit Plant CJSC and Defining Special Regime of the Government.

The draft was endorsed to be included in the draft laws of the agendas of the NA Session and October 24-27 sittings.

The deputies debated the Activity Programme of the RA Public Services Regulatory Commission for 2017 presented by the Chair of the Commission, then the Annual Activity Programme of the RA State Commission for Economic Competition Defense for 2017, which presented the Deputy Chair of the Commission Pavel Ghaltakhchyan. The speakers also answered the MPs’ questions.
