On August 31, an exhibition of works of Japanese calligraphers opened at the hall adjunct to the RA NA Session Hall within the framework of the visit of the Japan-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship League from the National Diet of Japan to Armenia . The RA NA MPs, representatives of the RA NA staff and journalists attended the event.

"Retribution for Kindness", "Spring Scene", "Chinese proverb," "About Basya" "Untitled" of calligraphers Schintu Kagihata, Taeko Maltumura, Yasiko Naga, Vafu Shimizu, Shimizu Kunchika and works of other authors were among the exhibits. The calligraphers presented the works to the RA Ministry of Culture.

The Head of the RA NA Armenia-Japan Parliamentary Friendship Group Samvel Farmanyan, welcoming the Japanese parliamentarians’ visit to Armenia, noted that the comprehensive ties between the two countries strengthen year by year in which parliamentary friendship groups have their significant role.

Samvel Farmanyan highly appreciated Japan ’s balanced position on NK conflict settlement, as well as expressed gratitude to the Japanese Government for the half-a-billion-dollar assistance to Armenia . The Head of the Group expressed confidence that with various commonalities, the Armenian and Japanese peoples’ relations will further advance and strengthen in the future.  

Seishiro Eto, Chairman of the Japan-Armenia Parliamentary Friendship League, thanking for the warm reception, also stated that many commonalities and skills to struggle against various challenges connect the Japanese and Armenian people. Seishiro Eto expressed gratitude to Armenia and the Armenian people for the support to Japan after the earthquake of 2011. Mr Eto assured on his friends’ and on his own behalf that everything will be done to fortify the Japan-Armenia multilateral ties in future.
