Meeting at the Standing Committee on Social Affairs

On August 30, the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs Hakob Hakobyan received Albert Weiler, FRG Budestag MP, Member of Committee on Labour and Social Affairs, President of the German-Armenian Forum.  

Welcoming the guest in the Armenian National Assembly, Hakob Hakobyan expressed his deep gratitude to the German people and personally to Albert Weiler on adopting the resolutionl on the Armenian Genocide by the German Parliament.

Let us note that Albert Weiler had his great contribution to the recognition of the Armenian Genocide. Thanking for the warm reception, the Bundestag MP noted that the adoption of the resolution was a result of long and comprehensive work.     

Upon the guest’s proposal, issues on the RA labour market, impact on constitutional reforms on social area and other issues were discussed.

Hakob Hakobyan presented the legal reforms in social area, upcoming plans. The Committee Chairman highlighted installation of accumulative pension system in the development of social sphere.

Funding of people in need for their work was highlighted, instead of allocations of financial means, which promotes reduction of unemployment and provision with stable work

Hakob Hakobyan mentioned that everything is being done for resolving the issue of youth employment through legislative reforms. He attached importance to the development of communities, solution of which the government programs promote in this area.

“Parallel economic development will bring to the resolution of diverse issues existing in social area”, - the Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Social Affairs mentioned.

The Bundestag MP, presenting the German experience in his area, noted that they also faced such kind of problems at the time which they succeeded to solve through comprehensive work.

Albert Weiler spotlighted the development of the German-Armenian economic relations, including the role and significance of the two countries’ parliaments. He mentioned,-“We have a lot to learn from each other.”

During the meeting diverse issues of other spheres were also discussed.
