The RA National Assembly President’s message reads:

“Dear compatriots, I cordially congratulate you on Liberation Day of Shushi and Victory and Peace Day.

The victory and the peace are non-bargaining values. During World War II and Great Patriotic War the sons of our people with dignity took part in winning the German fascism and establishing peace. After several decades their generations built dignified victory against modern, Azerbaijani fascism, winning in Artsakh War, a victory the climax of which, certainly, was the return of Armenian Shushi. That ordinary fascism being rejected by the civilized humanity tried to raise its head also about a month ago, however the Azerbaijani craziness full with xenophobia and directed against peace once again bowed down before the will and the spirit of winning and obliging peace of the soldier and officer of the Armenian Army.

Dear compatriots, the victory and the peace are never much. We live in a region, where as in many parts of the world there is lack of peace, but not an excess of victory. We, as honourable people, who has won and winning army, can fill in the lack of peace, can add our victories, because we know how to obtain and how to keep them.

Shushi, being liberated from fascism and fundamentally changing the process of Artsakh War and the History of Artsakh, the Armenian Armed Forces and the Armenian voluntary proved that they are able and have to return the Armenian territories being in the temporary foreign country as a consequence of occupation, approach the end of the state being led by the policy of xenophobia and mutilated psychology, but go forward to their request of not striking the last blow. However, that blow can be struck at any moment, moreover that in our region there are still states not being freed from the illness of fascism, which with their immoral and untalented work style continuously seek to add our victories and strengthen our fame of regional peace-keeper. We can do that, and at necessary moment, surely, the nearest time of the last blow, next victory and fundamental peace will also come, which apart from us nobody will serve us. The heroes who died, who were self-sacrificed to the motherland, people and victory, were bearing that idea.

On the occasion of this beautiful and victorious holiday, I congratulate the veterans representing different generations and different wars, who unite the victories. I congratulate the soldier and the officer of the Armenian Army building today’s victory, providing today’s peace and security. I congratulate the voluntary who today again settled down to his duty.

I wish optimism for victory and peaceful and well-to-do life.”
