On April 26, in the RA National Assembly the press conference of the members of the RA National Assembly Delegation to PACE was held, where they presented details on the works of PACE Spring Session. The Head of the Delegation Hermine Naghdalyan, members of the Delegation Naira Zohrabyan and Naira Karapetyan took part in the press conference.
The Head of the Delegation Hermine Naghdalyan effectively assessed the Armenian Delegation’s work and noted that it worked with a very loaded agenda: there were dozens of meetings with the representatives of the national delegations, worked in Political Groups and Committees. The Delegation presented to their European colleagues the whole real situation on the events occurred on Karabakh-Azerbaijani line of contact. They clarified who first attacked, what the goal of the offensive was, what kind of banned weapons they used, presented the number of the victims among the civilians, etc. They introduced the cases of the violation of the international and humanitarian law, as well as the violations of monitoring obligations assumed by Azerbaijan while joining PACE. They also delivered booklets where photos and other materials proving the adversary’s atrocities were presented, some of them, by the way, the Delegation had taken from the Azerbaijani websites.
By Naira Zohrabyan’s assessment the Delegation has done the most serious work, in numerous meetings has presented the real situation on the April events. Touching upon the Azerbaijani Delegations’ actions, Naira Zohrabyan has expressed conviction that Azerbaijan’s all steps lead to military solution of the problem, which also witnesses to every day shelling and victims. The MP considered necessary to continue the awareness of the international community about the atrocities provoked by Azerbaijan.
Naira Karapetyan has informed that the members of the Delegation had numerous speeches, where they mainly talked about April events, introduced to PACE delegates photos of the victims who were tortured, and many MPs were in a shock.
