On April 25, the RA National Assembly began the work of the regular four-day sittings.
The NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov presented the NA draft decisions on the agendas of the session, then also the four-day sittings, as well as on postponements and amendments. The parliament by voting approved the draft agendas.
Afterwards the deputies by voting passed a number of legislative initiatives debated at the previous four-day sittings and ratified international treaties.
The deputies in the third reading debated the draft law on Giving Privileges on Tax and Compulsory Social Insurance to Hrazdan-Cement CJSC.
Then the parliament in the first reading considered the RA Electoral Code and legislative package enclosed to it, which submitted the RA Government Minister-Chief of Staff Davit Harutyunyan.
In his speech and Q & A format Davit Harutyunyan also presented clarifications on some recommendations, which related to live broadcast and video shooting of the elections, participation in the election with united electoral document, the representation of the media and the observers in the electoral districts, the women’s involvement, the finger inking, the publication of the signed lists, the specification of the electoral lists, as well as the claiming process, the size of the use of the financial means for purchasing the technical equipment being envisaged as a result of amendments under proposal, the protection of the person’s individual data, the Committee members’ training in the electoral districts, the ways of fighting against election violations and the increase of the party role.
The debates on the new Draft Electoral Code will continue at April 26 sitting of the National Assembly.
