On April 22, in Dilijan the joint visiting session of the RA NA Standing Committee on Agriculture and Environment and the RA Ministry of Nature Protection was held. The participants of the session discussed the ways of making Dilijan a Centre of Eco-Tourism Development, creating appropriate conditions in the region and rectifying the problems of the sphere. The problems concerning Dilijan National Park were also discussed at the joint session. The Director of the National Park Sahak Muradyan, indicating the existing problems, also touched upon the illegal tree cutting issue. The issues connected with illegal tree cutting, the implementation of twenty-four hour service and the creation of environmental police were raised.
The NA deputies were interested in the further destiny of the plots privatized by the communities being in the territory of Dilijan National Park, as well as turned into pastures.
At the end of the visiting session the Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Agriculture and Environment Martun Grigoryan has noted that the joint debates of the Committee and the RA Ministry of Nature Protection are of regular nature. He highlighted the efficiency of the debates and the practical steps being undertaken in the sphere.
