On September 19 on the occasion of the 24^th anniversary of the RA Independence the RA National Assembly and the Armenian Cycling Federation organized bicycle race “Independent Generation, Healthy Generation” – the tournament “The NA President’s Cup.”

The tournament started from Isakov Avenue Velodrome. Cycling through a number of Yerevan streets about 100 cyclists started the competition race from the Baghramyan Avenue, passing 450 metres. Three athletes crossing the finish line occupied their places on the platform of honour in the NA yard. The NA President Galust Sahakyan handed the prizes to the winner cyclists. Mher Mkrtchyan who was in the third place and Pavel Stepanyan in the second place got medals, and Davit Mkrtchyan who was in the first honourable place, was handed the symbolic cup by the Head of the parliament. Galust Sahakyan awarded the NA President’s golden memorial medal the Champion of Europe, the Ex-Champion of the world Edgar Stepanyan, and the Coach of the Armenian Cycling National Team Armen Gyozalyan received the NA Diploma and monetary award.

Let us note that the NA deputies, the RA Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs Gabriel Ghazaryan and the Chairman of the Armenian Cycling Federation Arman Sahakyan also attended the event.

On the occasion of the tournament in the National Assembly yard a festive concert was organized.
