On May 22 with the participation of the representatives of the RA NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs and the representatives of the RA police debates were held on the results of the reform programme for 2013-2014 in the sphere of the RA Police.

The Committee Chairman Koryun Nahapetyan has noted that a big amount of reforms has been done during the recent years in the system of police. He has added that every reform being implemented in the system of the police has been at the centre of attention of the Committee.

The RA Deputy Head of Police Vardan Yeghiazaryan has informed that the police have chosen a path of crucial reforms, aimed at changing the work style of the police, raising at the quality of the services, the level of the employees’ professional preparedness and providing the transparency of the activities.

The RA Deputy Head of Police noted that the police actively cooperated with concerned institutions, international organizations and the NGOs.

The Deputy Head of the Public Order Protection Department of the RA Police Karen Mehrabyan presented the events implemented in the spheres of protection of public order and struggle against crime.

The Head of the Legal Division of the Road Police Service of the RA Police Arman Chilingaryan introduced the reforms made in the legislative field and in the system of accounting of the transport means.

The Deputy Head of Passport and Visa Department the RA Police Mnatsakan Bichakhchyan presented the achievements of their subdivision. The Deputy Head of the RA Police Educational Complex Tigran Yesayan has noted that during recent years the educational complex has established relations with similar foreign institutions, implementing exchange of experience.

Summing up the debates the Committee Chairman Koryun Nahapetyan stated that the parliament-police partnership relations had new procedure, and the similar debates with the representatives of the RA Police will be continuous.
