On April 30 the RA National Assembly continued the work of the four-day sittings, passing by voting the legislative initiatives debated on the previous day.

Before beginning the debate of the interrupted issue, the deputies welcomed the pupils and teachers of the secondary schools of Myasnikyan and Daralik communities of Armavir Marz, who visited the parliament within the NA “Open Doors” programme and were observing the work of the sitting.

The parliament continued the debate of the agreement “On Cooperation in Extending the Operation Term of the 2^nd block of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Russian Federation signed in Moscow on 20 December 2014, on which the NA deputies Tevan Poghosyan, Hovhannes Margaryan, Hrant Bagratyan, Heghine Bisharyan, Mikayel Melkumyan, Mher Shahgeldyan, Ishkhan Khachatryan, Khachatur Kokobelyan, Aram Manukyan and Artak Zakaryan delivered speeches. The MPs touched upon the problems of the sphere, the efficiency of the credit use, power tariffs, the possibilities of the alternative energy development and presented recommendations.

In the final speeches the member of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Khosrov Harutyunyan, the member of the Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Shirak Torosyan and the key speaker, the RA Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Areg Galstyan gave final speeches.

Afterwards the parliament debated the agreement “On Providing State Export Credit to the RA Government for Financing the Works of Extending the Nuclear Power Plant Operation Term on the RA Territory between the RA Government and the Government of the Russian Federation,” which presented the RA Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources.

The MPs Khosrov Harutyunyan and Shirak Torosyan presented the endorsement on the agreement.

The Head of the Rule of Law Heghine Bisharyan has noted that the faction is for the adoption of the agreement.

Presenting the viewpoint of the PAP, Mikayel Melkumyan has informed that the faction will vote for the agreement and has touched upon the mechanisms of the control of the credit use.

Khosrov Harutyunyan and Areg Galstyan referred to the deputies’ recommendations.

Afterwards the agreement “On Construction of the New Bridge on the River Debed in the Territory of Sadakhlo-Bagratashen Checkpoint of the RA and Georgia State Border” signed in Yerevan on 24 December 2014 was debated, which presented the First Deputy of the RA Transport and Communication Artur Arakelyan.

The Chairman of the NA Standing Committee on Financial-Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan in his speech highlighted the cooperation between the two countries also at the level of sub-structures. Presenting the endorsement of the NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations Shirak Torosyan has noted that the agreement is not of only economic, but also of political importance.

The deputies in the first reading considered the draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Guaranteeing the Compensation of the Bank Deposits of the Physical Entities” authored by the NA deputies Mikayel Melkumyan, Naira Zohrabyan and Elinar Vardanyan.

The debate of the issue will continue during the next four-day sittings.

The parliament ended the work of the four-day sittings.
