1 / 13

On January 30 the RA NA Deputy Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov, the NA deputies Gagik Melikyan, Artsvik Minasyan and Karen Botoyan visited Tavush Marz.

The first meeting of the NA Deputy Speaker and the deputies was with the residents of Choratan village. First the parliamentarians laid flowers at the memorial stone eternalizing the memory of the victims of the village, then they talked with the farmers, trying to understand to what extent the legal regulations concerning the privileges and social support designed by the RA legislation from 2015 had facilitated the problems of the frontline communities. The MPs expressed readiness to debate any proposal and together find the ways of their solutions. Highlighting the creation of new jobs in the frontline settlements the deputies in their word noted that in the future a series of programmes are envisaged to implement in that direction, particularly a group of businessmen from the RF had the goal to found a new enterprise in the frontline settlements which will give an opportunity to create new jobs.

In Choratan the parliamentarians visited the family of the conscript Arman Udumyan who was killed in the Armenian-Azerbaijani border a few days ago, talked with the children and the relatives.

Eduard Sharmazanov, Gagik Melikyan, Artsvik Minasyan and Karen Botoyan have also been to Chinari village. During the meeting numerous issues regarding the residents’ problems, which related to the social, healthcare, communal and legal issues, were discussed. As a frontier village the residents of Chinar have asked the MPs that the state will provide them with certain additional privileges. Touching upon the raised problems Eduard Sharmazanov noted that we should give priority to the issues requiring an urgent solution. According to the NA Deputy Speaker, any problem existing in the frontline villages should be at the centre of each deputy's attention.

In the name of the RA NA Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov awarded the NA nominal watches to the Head of Chinari village Samvel Saghoyan, the Head of Choratan village Varuzhan Baghmanyan and the Director of Berd hospital Edik Grigoryan.

Then the RA NA Deputy Speaker and the deputies have been to the military bases and Mehrab battalion, studied their conditions, got acquainted with the soldiers’ everyday life and problems. The deputies highly assessed the fighting ability and high readiness, the love and devotion towards the Motherland, and the Armenian border-guards in their turn noted that they realize that they are defenders of our Motherland's security and have assured that the defense of the NKR borders are in the sound hands.

“The Motherland begins from the border,” Eduard Sharmazanov said and expressed conviction that the Armenian soldiers fulfill their obligations with glory and honour, being well aware that the Armenian people calmly sleep thanks to them.

According to Artsvik Minasyan, the Armenian people should be united with the soldier to defend and liberate the Motherland to make reality the free, independent and united Armenia dreamed by our grandfathers.

The parliamentarians presented patriotic literature to the military.
