On March 1 the NA President Hovik Abrahamyan accompanied by the members of the NA Standing Committee on Agriculture and Environment, Head of Armavir Marz and other officials were in Armavir Marz.

The NA President’s first stop was Arshaluis community. Hovik Abrahamyan met with the villagers working in the vineyards. He congratulated the community residents on the occasion of the first spring day, warmly and sincerely talked with them and was interested in the support, which was given to the villagers after the last year’s hail and softened their concern. The villagers assured the Head of the parliament that the water price, land tax was reduced, and there was also monetary support, which definitely solved their problems. Nevertheless, the villagers asked Hovik Abrahamyan to have the water price reduced this year too, if necessary. Abrahamyan was also interested in the problems connected with the breeding grapes, but the villagers assured that they had signed contracts and there would not be any problem. The Deputy Minister of Agriculture Robert Makaryan noted that measures would be taken for facilitating the harm caused by moths. The NA President promised that they would study all the problems and try to solve them.

The next stop was Geghakert community. Here the villagers had also warm and sincere talk with Hovik Abrahamyan, introducing the problems of the settlement. In the villagers’ word, the village has problems of water, gas and roads. Hovik Abrahamyan promised that in future their problems would be studied, considered and be solved. The residents have noted that the community has no tractors. The NA President promised to help solving the problem quickly. The Head of Geghakert village asked Hovik Abrahamyan to help restoring the roof of the House of Culture. The Head of the parliament also promised to support in this problem.

In Aragats community of Armavir Hovik Abrahamyan got familiarized with the works in greenhouses. The community has 150 greenhouses, where there are mainly potatoes, cabbages growing. They mainly export the agricultural products to Russia and Georgia. The President of the National Assembly got acquainted with the problems of the village, talked with the residents. In Aragats community tasting the crop grown by the villagers, Hovik Abrahamyan wished abundance to all the families and noted that the authorities would always be next to the villager and try to facilitate their concern. Summing up the working visit to Armavir Marz in Aragats community Hovik Abrahamyan has noted that visiting Ararat valley on the first spring day, their goal is to get acquainted with the villagers’ problems on spot and try to support them. The NA President assured them that discussion would be organized over the raised problems. Next week they will convene hearings concerning the spring preparatory works, where the representatives of the government and other bodies will take part. According to the NA President, the problems of the village and the problem of support to the villagers are at the centre of attention of the NA President.
