On February 17 the sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Protection of Human Rights and Public Affairs moderated by Elinar Vardanyan was held. The draft law “On Amending the RA Law on Non-Governmental Organizations” authored by the NA deputy Artak Davtyan was debated.

In his co-report the RA Deputy Justice Minister Aram Orbelyan has noted that the Government has endorsed the draft law and has presented a number of proposals.

The Committee Chair Elinar Vardanyan has mentioned that she will not be against the legislative initiative.

In his final speech the author of the bill Artak Davtyan has noted that he is ready to make corresponding amendments and revise the bill based on the proposals from the first reading to the second one.

The bill will be included in the fifth session of the National Assembly with the endorsement of the Committee.
