RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan Receives the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to the RA

On February 13 the RA NA President Hovik Abrahamyan received Giovanni Ricciulli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to the RA.

The NA President congratulated Giovanni Ricciulli on assuming the post and wished success in the implementation of diplomatic mission. Hovik Abrahamyan has noted that Armenia greatly highlights the dynamically developing friendly relations with Italy, which are based on the centuries-old and rich history of the two peoples. He has documented with satisfaction that during the recent years the Armenian-Italian relations have considerably enlivened, activation is also noticed in the Armenian-Italian inter-parliamentary relations: after the parliamentary elections held in February 2013 Italy-Armenia working friendship group has been formed and set to work, where about 115 parliamentarians (63 from the Senate and 52 from the Chamber of Deputies) are involved. Hovik Abrahamyan highlighted the development of the inter-parliamentary relations, expressing conviction that they would also promote the reinforcement of inter-state relations. The Ambassador thanked for the reception and ensured that during the years of his tenure he would do his best for strengthening and deepening the Armenian-Italian relations. He also emphasized the necessity of deepening inter-parliamentary relations, bilateral contacts and mutual visits.

The interlocutors deemed important the development of economic cooperation, implementation of concrete programmes in different spheres.

In the course of the meeting other issues were also discussed.
